In the beginning, there was . . . Unhappy Monkey!

Personally, I’ve never been able to draw anything serious or angry looking. Call it a flaw in my artistic nature, but my friend, Chas Kelley, is an ace at drawing things that make you wanna go “OMG”.

During the planning stages of the webcomic, I was doing a LOT of sketches trying to practice creating people. I had a lot of doodles of an adorable, curly haired girl. One craft day, not so long ago, I was doing one of my Abby doodles and I passed it off to Chas. He, in turn, drew a picture next to my own.

So Unhappy Monkey was born.

Please understand that no monkeys were harmed in the making of Unhappy Monkey. Any people and/or things from the comic are horrible figments of the artist’s imagination! I’d hope I wouldn’t need to clarify that, but you never know.

Enjoy Unhappy Monkey and just remember “If I hadn’t learned to laugh at myself, I’d be dead.” A cookie to whoever gets the reference.
