This is true!
Plotting more stories. Trying to keep things up. Sorry, folks. Hope you’re all still out there alive and reading!
And yes, this comic did happen. Georgia State’s Sculpture department a few years back was a little chaotic. (I personally think it still is.) We had two classes in the same work space. Well, one of the professor’s went out of town and left his TA in charge for the week, but he (the TA) was an asshole and didn’t help students much.
The class was entirely concerning the process of making sand molds for iron pours. o_O
The situation in the comic involves the very end of the process where you need to use an alcoholic based slurry to coat the mold’s inside to prevent the iron from sticking too much in the mold. You’re supposed to use the blow torch to burn off the excess alcohol.
>_< Let’s just say, I took the class the semester before, so I’ve seen students who are dumb and burn eyebrows off. And worse.

Chemistry and Biology Labs are also wonderful places where you get to see people burn and blow things off.
